Welcome!

I have been in the Professional Development Department at ESU #10 since 1997. My wife, Cindy, is a Registered Nurse. We have two sons.
Hobbies include horseback riding, camping, hunting, and reading.
I graduated in 1978 from Kearney State College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Social Science. In 1982, I earned a Masters Degree from Kearney State College in Principalship and School Administration. I taught 6th and 7th grade in elementary and middle school for 19 years, before joining ESU 10.
As a Professional Developer my duties include:
- co-administering the Carl Perkins Career and Technical Education Grant
- co-administering the STAR grant
- assisting schools with their work in:
- curriculum
- assessment
- instruction
- other areas as needed
Another important responsibility of my work is school improvement. My consultation with schools includes the use of the Nebraska Model for School Improvement and the NCA-CASI Model for School Improvement. I have been a Certified Ambassador for the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement since September of 2000. In May of 2007, I became a Field Consultant for AdvancED. AdvancED is a new organization comprised of NCA CASI and SACS CASI, the Southern Association Commision of Schools.
Other members of the Professional Development Department include; Paula Mellinger, Kim Jonas, Chad Dumas, Marcia Carmann, Denise O'Brien, Rosemary Cervantes, Gaylene Mays, and Jody Suchan.
